Icelandic Adventures

Over half term Mr Withers led a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils on a Geography field trip of a lifetime.  'Learning outside the classroom' took a new dimension as the group travelled through steam-emitting lava fields, hiked to Selijalandsfoss waterfall, marvelled at the huge waves and towering sea stacks at Black Beach, trekked to a glacier, visited the incredible Skogarfoss and Gullfoss waterfalls, dodged geysers, learnt how the geothermal power of volcanoes can be harnessed, and even fitted in time for an outdoor swim in a magma-heated pool.  It certainly beats a whiteboard!
