Now I am at Tonbridge I really do appreciate the incredible academic foundation that Hilden Grange has given me.”
At Hilden Grange we provide the ideal learning environment for children aged 11-13.
Small class sizes and specialist subject teachers ensure that our pupils receive a first class education, within a positive, nurturing and intimate setting. Our facilities are excellent. Pupils are placed in sets for English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French and Latin and outstanding teaching ensures that they are thoroughly prepared for public examinations. Through such initiatives as study skills workshops, they are taught how to learn and as a result develop good working habits that will stay with them through the rest of their education.
As Senior Students, our Year 7 and 8 pupils have a unique opportunity to experience additional responsibilities and leadership opportunities at an early age. They develop intellectually, physically and emotionally in a secure, familiar and happy environment with people who know them well. When they leave, at age 13, they are confident, mature and ready to face the new challenges that await them at Senior School.
We have an unrivalled record of placing pupils in their first choice secondary school. At 13 it is very rare for pupils not to gain entry to their first choice secondary school and each year Hilden Grange students win scholarships to schools such Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Sutton Valence, Walthamstow Hall and Kent College. In addition to academic awards, scholarships have also been gained for music, drama, art, sport and technology. Pupils also win places to boarding schools and recent destinations have included Eastbourne, Eton and Millfield.
